Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

Spring....Long View

On the drive home. This photo reminds me of an oil painting.

Still catching up on posting some of the plethora of photos I crank out in the course of a week. Hope you enjoy!

Waning, or was it waxing(?) moon framed by tree branches

Morning sky

Contrast of stark trees and delicate spring green

River bottom farm

State park and ever present fishermen

You have so been in my mind lately, Tammy....You OK? Were you in the middle of the storms through MO?

I love the pictures. You have an artist's eye. :)

Georgeous pics! What type of camera are you using? Seems everyone has a digital these days. (I love convenience of ours, but I miss my old manual Nikon.) The moon shot would take a slower speed, and I don't know if digitals have that capability.

Thanks Louise and Joanna--it really is lovely right now. Kathy, I'm doing fine, I'll try and email and update soon. Thank's for the compliment, but it's hard to take a bad picture right now! Hi Sheila--welcome back! I live in the SW area of Missouri, so I imagine it's very close to where you lived!
Kim, my camera is a Sony, but not sure the 'numbers' on it. It's about six years old, and the newer cameras make it look like a dinosour! It's been a great digital camera though, not sure how much life it has left in it, as the shutter is starting to stick. For the picture of the moon, I just take it 'enlarged' as big as the camera will go. Then I edit it while the picture is still on the camera, enlarging it as much as I can. I just discovered this is the way to get 'moon shots' recently. No special tricks beyond that. I miss my 35 mm too, but love, love, love the easy access to my pix and being able to edit them on the fly, so to speak. I would really like one of those fancier digital cameras but for now they are out of my price range. (STILL no lambs???)

The first photo does look like a painting. Those clear blue skies and white clouds are perfect. You live in a very beautiful area.

Marnie,
That is what I thought too, that particular shade of blue with the white skies made me think oil painting! :-) Thanks, AJ, I think so too, although it gets to be a jungle pretty quick this time of the year. Kim, I looked at my camera and it's a Sony Cyber Shot 5.0 mega pixels. Like I said it's about five or six years old.

Tammy, thanks for camera tip. I'll have to play with mine, not visualizing what you mean. We have 2 Sony Cyber-Shot cameras, older than yours I believe. The 1.3 mega pixel is on the fritz, but we have the 3.3 working again. The 3.3 has adjustable f stops and numerous other settings that I've forgotten how to use on a manual setting. I started looking through a photography how-to book last night. Seeing all of these lovely pictures on other blogs has really inspired me to get back into my photo artsy side. It's been awhile, way overdo! Thanks for the inspiration!
