The other evening I went down to Mom and Dad's and picked some apples. Mom isn't quite up to apple pickin' yet, but didn't want this abundance of apples to go to waste. I rarely do much preserving or freezing, because of lack of time and freezer space. However, I was pretty sure I could give the surplus away at work.
Apples are pretty easy picking, compared to some fruits. It doesn't take long to fill a bucket or two.

The apples look yummy and on the way home from our out of town trip today I stopped by a roadside market and got some early apples, just for eating. YUM!
Boone looks like he's having a ball!
Homemade applesauce is a winter staple at our house, so it's one thing I break out the canner for. I'll can tomatoes, too, if I get enough or have a supplier. (Apples grow better here!)
