Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

Oh Dear........Six......

Butterfly was busy today while I was at work. There are six so far. I think she is done...I hope... I've got to head back out there and figure out how to get a box in there to keep them safe at night.

Here are a 'few' pictures, so ya'll can be picking out which one you want! :-) I hope all goes well for her, I'm worried about her being able to feed them all, so will have to keep a close eye on them.

There are two blacks (I think...they are still damp from just being born), one black torti, one sandy yellow, one sandy yellow/white, and one calico. Maybe I'll have a contest later to guess which are males and which are females..winner gets the kitten of their choice? Or something like that.

I think that is a baby Butterfly on the left...

Baby Sage?

I'm pretty sure this one belongs to my sister, she just doesn't know it yet.....;-)

Calico & Tortoiseshell

Tired little Butterfly...

More details later, it seems that Butterfly thought having them on the top shelf was the way to go....but my Mom saw it differently!

Way to go Butterfly! Those are six beautiful babies...I hope all ends well and that Butterfly is much more comfortable now with her new family.

YAY! Congrats!

If we're to guess the genders, can we have pictures of the little 'tocks? ;-)

Hi, this is the first time I have been on your blog..the title got me. I was thinking...maybe she is referring to having baby kittens...and I was right. Butterfly is going to be one busy momma. My cat just gave birth to her 2nd litter and she only had 2 kittens. The birth was much easier and she seems to be adjusting very well to motherhood...and the kittens are adorable and doing great. Best of luck with the naming process...Erica:)

I would like to order 2 black kitties, 1 yellow, 1 white and yellow, 1 pretend tortie, and 1 calico to go please, especially the yellows. Ok Butterfly can come too. They are so sweet and beautiful and I want to kiss them and hug them and call them mine. I tried not to look. Really I did. -Teejay

She does feel much better! She doesn't much want to leave the little buggers now, and seems very content. Oh, no, L'Helene! You have to guess by their faces! That makes it more challenging and levels the field for the 'non kitty' experts. ;-) Kristi, if there was any way in my power you'd have yourself a little torti in about 8 weeks! Thanks for stopping in Erica, hope you little litter does well! Thanks for commenting. I stopped over to your blog and enjoyed it. TJ....what can I say, SISTER---here in front of witnesses you have agreed to take not one, but six kittens! yep....
Thanks for stopping in Star and Sara...They are so incredibly cute and I never expected to have little kittens like this around again.
