Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

Just Waiting It Out

Poor Butterfly....she gets more uncomfortable each day. She spends most of the time in her cat condo, but at night I let her out on a very long piece of twine and she wanders around some. Mostly she just flops in the dirt, and wants to be petted. Sometimes she pokes around and tries to explore every dark and hidden place, looking for a perfect place to birth her kittens. She seems to be okay, condition wise, but is a little on the thin side--her backbone is very prominent. She can pack the groceries away though. Here are some pictures I took tonight. She is such a gentle, patient little soul.

She looks particularly uncomfortable in this picture

She is a pretty little thing....

Hmmm...this looks like a promising spot....

A pretty girl, indeed. I hope, for her sake, that the blessed event is SOON!

Thanks everyone. She is a pretty little thing, just so sad that animals are so 'disposable'. She is lots more comfortable now that she has had her little herd of kittens.
