Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

Books...Books...Everywhere Books.....

Well, since I mentioned that my book shelves were clean, I did decide to 'take a picture' so you can see the true scope of my addiction. This is my main 'book nook' but I have other smaller stashes of books throughout the house (several...lots...of stashes).

The nook consists of an 'L' shape area, made up of several free standing book shelves (one of which is an old entertainment center), as well as some shelves I put up on the wall above the bookshelves.

Outside of the 'nook'. (Almost ran out of room on this big shelf, but then discovered the top wasn't being used for anything important like more books....)

Inside the 'nook' (Same shelf, other side)

Back wall of the 'nook'. (Yes, that second shelf if sagging....)

What I really need is more shelves. Lots more shelves. I feel pretty comfortable posting these pictures right now, because Michelle is busy with lambing, and so is her backup plan, Allena, so the threat of an intervention is pretty small. (Thumbs nose...in a loving shepherdly way, of course).

(Pat, do those shelves along the back wall look familar? :-) Vicki your books are located on the 'inside nook' photo, second shelf from the bottom. I left a little extra room there, so Ms. Birdie's book'll fit! Maybe by the time a new Elizabeth book comes out, I'll have more book shelves! Maybe need a bigger house too......

Tammy,
You are seriously hooked on books - I love to read but I don't have that much room in my house....
have you read all of them? most of them?
Wow!

LOL it's nice to know someone as addicted (maybe more so) like me. I have an "office" which basically is really a library, the living room downstairs has 3 more bookcases full. The playroom has another 2 and my partner gets most of her books from an actual library so most of them are mine. I can't do the library thing as I have favorite books that I have to re-read right that moment. Some of which I can read in a day if I devote one to it.

Nice work and um that shelf wouldn't sag so much if you used books to prop it up :)

You know, if you need more space, I'd be willing to help you get rid of those pesky extra books!

Ahh . . .Synchronicity. . . I'm getting ready to do a post for tomorrow and it involves the bookshelves in our upstairs guestroom (which I just spent HOURS cleaning and reorganizing)with pictures of same.

Yippee!! Someone who has a bigger problem than me...you made my day!! Between all my history books, trashy collections of romance books, teacher books, and gosh those darn magazines I will never get it organized!! So are they alphabetized? grouped by subject? LOL Your so brave to show us your "issues"!!

Oh no, I am in a lambing lull, so I am COMPLETELY available for an intervention. Look out!

What a small world! We have the same kind of bookshelves, in design and fullness!!! LOL There is just something about books and me ... I have them stacked, and stashed, everywhere. Guess if that's my 'addiction' it's not all bad. :o)

Hmmm, I love books too, but I try to keep to one or two bookcases. However, looking at your room full of books, it does look interesting. It is the sort of room one could spend a lot of time in. Enjoy your books. If I run out, I'll know where to come to LOL
Blessings, Star

I enjoyed everyone's comments (except Michelle's...hers kinda scared me). I love my books, and I have read most of them. All of the novels for sure (some many times),but I also have what I term my 'reference' books. Which I may or may not have ever referenced, but they are there in case I need them! ;-)
