Three day weekends are so nice. Three whole days off! I have several things I want to get caught up on, and one of those was weeding the flower and vegetable gardens. My favorite time to work in the garden is in the early morning. It's so peaceful and sometimes almost magical. You begin to see the world from a whole new perspective.Weeding away, I found several surprises that the summer's growth had hidden away.
There's the unusual green terrapin that shares the hosta bed with the equally odd blue terrapin. 
Oh, and look! There is Mr. Toad's barn....
....and there is Mr. Toad himself, lounging under the tree! But wait...that's not a toad! It's a frog! What in the tiny world......???Have a great weekend everyone! Hope you get to take the time to appreciate the little things too.

I worked outside early yesterday morning and early evening weeding among my flowers and in my garden. It kind of 'recharged' me!
Isn't it lovely and quiet in the early mornings? My favorite time. Labor Day is always a bit bittersweet for me. It's a wonderful to have the holiday and all, but it also marks the end of the summer. I just hate to see another lovely summer slip away into winter. (blach! hate winter!)
Is that a REAL turtle? The shell looks real (and is beautiful!), but the head and neck are odd.
It was wonderful to meet you and spend a little time together Tuesday! I WAS glad to be leaving town about the time Gustav moved in, though....
Thanks for stopping by Pamela! No, those aren't real turtles...:-) I think they are 'dollar store' specials. They are made out of some kind of ceramic material. I got two of them, and they really are kinda pretty sitting around in the garden....
