Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

How to Cool Off in the Summer Heat...

......Brought to you by Boone and Ariel....

(with a few words by their sponsor!--This is Boone's new pool. He only likes to wade though, no sitting or laying down in it. Ariel sleeps with her head right against the fan, whether she is outside or inside at night. Maybe she likes the 'white noise??) And all those sacks on the bench above the dogs? Fleeces. Yep, fleeces that haven't been skirted for the second time yet.....)

Ha! Just showed my husband Boone's picture and said 'This is a French mastiff --Dogue de Bordeux'

Says he, 'I thought it was a small hippopotamus.'

(Don't tell Boone.)

Hi, with school being out, I have not been able to get on computer as much. I finally got a chance to catch up and read other's blogs. Your dogs are so adorable. I also love the pictures of your lambs. Have a wonderful weekend, blessings, Kathleen

Oh my Vickie.. I'll never tell Boone, and I'll never tell him I laughed at the comparison! So funny..and so apt... He thinks he is a delicate little flower anyway....
Phylliso--thanks for stopping by! I went over for a quick visit of your blog. Beautiful dogs you have. Ariel is a Collie(she is 10 this year). Her 'sister' Jody, died a little over two years ago--very sudden. She was 10 and she looked very much like your Max. I will have Collies again, as I love their quirky personality. My first two Collies were half sister blue merles--one Rough coat and one Smooth. Wonderful dogs too. Surprisingly Jody and Ariel accepted Boone right off and were only a little appalled at his manners.
Thanks Kathleen! I enjoy my silly dogs, they keep things interesting!
