Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

Oh Wretched Spring....

Surely not you too? Must you follow the miserable steps of Winter?

Today is your day, Spring. But where are you? Why didn't you show up?

Are you in the face of the sad, (stubborn) dog who waits at the gate in the rain?

Or in the pile of cats on the unmade bed? Frankly this looks more like Winter to me.

The cold dismal rain that falls, doesn't feel like your warm, life giving drops, Spring.

I don't see you in this dejected rooster standing huddled in the rain, either....(and neither do I know why he was standing in the rain)

Or, in the (unshorn) sheep piled up in the barn out of the cold, miserable rain.

Ah..but wait! Here you are! Spring has shown up after all. Ants in the house. Of course, yes, it's Spring...

Disclaimer: This was posted in a fit of the sulks. Yes, today was suppose to be shearing day. It's not. It's raining, it's getting very cold and we will most likely have snow by nightfall. Bitter you ask? Yes, yes, I am.

I just came in from doing the chores, and we have probably about 6 inches of snow on the ground! I knew you had said you were shearing, and wondered if you had canceled. I'll bet the sheep are glad.

we did have a beautiful Spring day, but I hear your weather is moving my way, to arrive Sunday.

Sorry to hear that winter is clinging on to the very last second before allowing Spring to finally reach you. On the positive side, the ants are out which means the warmer weather is peeking around the corner. Love the pics of the cats all snoozing. Now that looks like a bunch of very happy, content kitties!

Aww! I hate it that your first day of Spring was cold and rainy. Really, the picture of the rooster says it all.

This too shall pass.

Too funny comment on that rooster standing in the rain! I actually thought of you today when I was watching the radar on the Weather Channel and I was thinking "gosh I am glad I am here right now" LOL Just kidding Tammy! Spring is coming!

Ah, I'm really sorry for your awful weather! We stole it, I guess; it was beautiful here yesterday. Maybe more of your sheep will lamb, since animals seem to give birth in the worst of it.

Oh dear, oh dear. Nothing worse than a bedraggled rooster in the rain, is there. It will get better, it will, it will, it will. Have faith!
