Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. That was my question too ... who/how many are you keeping? They're cute little furballs!

As adorable as they ARE, I'm hoping (for your sake!) that you've found homes for most, if not all, of them...

And don't they all look happy!

The kittens are growing fast. Looks like they are keeping your hands full too. How long until they go to their new homes?

Kristi, Pat---My 'plans' were to keep the two black kittens (male/female) and move them into the house once they pass all their health tests. I dearly love black kittens...and as Kristi said in a previous post...Halloween is coming up and we have to keep 'em safe! The rest of the story Nancy and Shula, is that there are no new homes yet. I have asked every one I can think of and either they live too far away OR they just don't want another kitten. (the paper is full of 'free kittens, btw) Butterfly will be going back to Mom's and Mom will take one or two of the kittens if we can't find homes. They would be barn kitties with extra benefits. I shudder to think of advertising them on Craigslist or such things, esp. after a horrific news story about two dogs thrown off a bridge locally. One lived, one did not. I know there are good folks, but finding them is so hard. So....I'm not giving up yet,but I'm also not going to just offer them up to anybody---if we could find homes for even two of them that would help.

I hear you, Tammy! I think I remember figuring out that when we rescued Daisy and the kittens, even with the Animal Defense League of AZ paying for basic shots (only), I paid over $500.00 out of pocket before it was all over.
As Ralph says, "No good deed goes unpunished." I don't really believe that, but some days I do wonder. :)

Tammy,
After reading the comments I have to chime in - please don't do anything with the kits until AFTER Halloween. I had a couple of people looking for "black cats" when I was trying to find homes for the kittens last year. It reeked of something "odd".
Also, if you do have to advertise them, put them up for "sale" - even if it's a low price like $25 or so. This weeds out alot of weird people.
We ended up keeping Mooch and Rascal 'cause we just couldn't find good enough homes. Were we picky? Yup. You bet and glad of it.
And I wouldn't take gold or jewels for either one of them. :)

Hey Kathy,
The little ones will be safe here. I plan on keeping the two black ones for sure. It's not looking good on placing the others. I keep asking though, and I pray that there will be someone just at the right time that 'needs' a sweet little kitty.
