Like a walk through the country side living on a small farm is full of daily surprises, sometimes wonderful and amazing, and other times puzzling and sad. I hope you will walk with me as I live out my dream of living on this tiny farm. You will come to know the dogs, cats, Shetland sheep and chickens that make up this farm and what goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Come and join the journey with me.

I Need An Intervention...Uhm..In Just A Minute....

I really don't know how this happened. I don't remember too good--it's all a blur. The thing is, I've found some awesome deals on used books the last month or two. Maybe if I stayed out of used books stores and stuff, but still....This is my To Be Read pile. The only thing is, it must be my Auxiliary TBR pile, because I have a whole shelf for the Regular TBR books. This started out as a small overflow, stacked on top of my radio/record player. Suddenly one day it looked like this! I went to our local Library used book store, which I've mentioned before, and got quite a few books on CD--for like .50 cents each! Then there was the Publishers Outlet visit--where I was looking for Christmas presents, yeah, thats it, Christmas presents.

I don't even know if I'll like half these books, but you just never know where you'll find your next favorite author! So, you gotta keep looking, right?

I really do need more shelves.......

Oh, yes, I have a major book problem too! When I was completing my MA in history I use to order a lot of my books from borders/Amazon because it was cheaper esp. the used ones but then I would find "other books" that I bought because they sounded like a good read and was a afraid if I didn't buy them now then I would forget about them. We should do a post on book shelves....not real organized ones of course:)

Ooooh, that would be me too! I have books on shelves TBR, books stacked on the floor next to my comfy reading chair, TBR, and I have a huge 'wish list' on Amazon, TBR, and not necessairly to be bought from them, but just so I don't forget. Yes, I admit it, I have a problem, but I LOVE my books!!!

I see many days of a good book, your favorite hot beverage and a comfy chair in your future this winter. I mean really, what else can you do on those snowy, blustery days? :)

I think there are probably more "book addicts" than you know (including myself).

I filled my office with book shelves and I have stacks on top of the shorter shelves....way to many TBR and I should part with some of them that I've already read...though many of them are reference.....

I need either more shelves (which would require a bigger office or take over another room...) or an intervention as well!!! :)

Tammy, are Allena and I going to have to come over and sit you down to save your life? Let's face it, at this rate, you will some day be in serious danger of dying in an avalanche of books, probably precipitated by one of Sage's mad dashes around the house. When one of your family members stops by to check on you and discovers your sad end, we will all hear about it on the evening news; "Woman with book-hoarding disease found dead under an avalanche of tomes." We will grieve, and Boone will have to move to Oregon to live with Annie and we would take in Ariel for her last days. We will do our best to find good homes for all your sheep, cats, and chickens, and reminisce about what a nice person you were, if only you didn't have the book-hoarding problem.... Hee!
