For those who wonder how small the Shetland Sheep are in the 'grand scheme' of things, I thought I would share this photo.
At the rear of the picture is the neighbor's Holstein heifer, most likely between 1 to 2 years old. The white sheep is, Gracie, my Dorset girl, unperturbed by the size or curiosity of the cow. The black and moorit (brown) sheep are Shetlands.
And this is why I decided on sheep instead of cows!

Why is it the sheep don't seem that small when you're working with them? Then I see a picture and think, "Gosh, they ARE small sheep!" :)
I know Kathy, these small sheep can suddenly seem monsterous in size, esp. if they somehow get the 'upper hoof' when we are trying to work with them! :-)
