Or you have faith in your Cat Vet? The promises didn't last a minute, but his place is secure here anyway.
Star--Poor Patch--they do take it hard when they have to go out into the world. I find it fascinating you also have an 'American' cat. Your life must be very busy.
Thanks Donna!
Vicki--I think the CCL had the most lingering effects from it.
Kathy, good to hear from you! I was thinking about you the other day. I'm very glad that Pixel is okay. Although it sounds like it was a rather messy event...the things we do..
Nancy--good idea with the farm call. Haven't figured out how to work that yet, as the vet I use for the cats is different than my farm vet.
Kristi,
Glad to hear your thoughts on the vaccinations. I've done quite a bit of reading about it and personally have become alarmed at seeing several of my cats (and family cats) die young from cancer and things of that nature. If they live a somewhat isolated life I think the option to vaccinate less is probably wiser in my situation.
Hi Karen Anne,
Yes, I had changed it for a Christmas effect. I've just updated it for winter, so hopefully you'll find it easier to read.
Amy--I took my two dogs a few weeks ago, and it was stressful, but not nearly as hard as the cat drama! I'm like you though---never again!
TammyTammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02131066591477169851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-73813029100462758352011-01-09T14:12:50.748-08:002011-01-09T14:12:50.748-08:00Poor little Gabe-I am sure that was hard on him. If I lived that far away though--I would have tried it too. They don't go anywhere even though some of them go outside. I am so glad to know another "cat lady";)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14070606564603963629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-80725897894437636982011-01-08T18:58:15.388-08:002011-01-08T18:58:15.388-08:00You have the luckiest cats in the world!
Like Kat...You have the luckiest cats in the world!

Like Kathy, I have my vet come to the house. I just have him do the cats (and dogs) when he comes out to do something with the sheep! It's cheaper that way too because I don't have to pay for an office visit and am only charged one time for the farm call.

The Frugal Shepherd strikes again!

;-)Nancy K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06061265740359266798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-45563008820167851042011-01-08T18:14:22.985-08:002011-01-08T18:14:22.985-08:00You deserve a medal, my dear friend! I so remember how it was with Daisy May and her brood and was right there with you as I read the story.
Well done you!
Now, I have a vet who comes to the house, which is so less stressful than taking everyone for a "ride".
We just had a scare with Pixel - she had an extremely high temperature, so "Dr. Bill" put her on antibiotics, only to have her develop an abscessed anal glad two days later! Have you ever tried putting a warm compress on a cat's butt after surgery?
I hope that picture give YOU a chuckle!
Many hugs, Kathy & the Sheep Thrills Mob
and the LeFevre Home for Wayward Cats
in Airy ZonaKathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16933105773412843275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-16459922587113040152011-01-08T18:13:31.523-08:002011-01-08T18:13:31.523-08:00What an ordeal for everyone, not least the CCL!What an ordeal for everyone, not least the CCL!Vicki Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08114677510459055768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-4085584851331289342011-01-08T18:13:10.749-08:002011-01-08T18:13:10.749-08:00What an ordeal for everyone, not least the CCL!What an ordeal for everyone, not least the CCL!Vicki Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08114677510459055768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-7511094989246862752011-01-08T15:54:47.698-08:002011-01-08T15:54:47.698-08:00Very funny story. My little Patch often poops in the carrier when she goes to the vet. She went in December and she didn't poop this time. That was such a bonus. Now she's good for another year, barring accidents.
I've just back in Tennessee and my American cat was so pleased to see me, it brought the tears to my eyes.Stella Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06699491230987143490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28884256.post-1489702397766283202011-01-08T14:51:45.330-08:002011-01-08T14:51:45.330-08:00Oh poor Gabe!
